The AeroPress will make a good cup out of almost any grind, any temperature, any ratio. That’s the lie. It’s not that your technique is good; it’s that the AeroPress doesn’t care.
Move to a V60 and it cares a great deal. Every mistake you didn’t know you were making shows up in the cup, usually as astringency around the third pour.
I think this is why I like both. One tells me what I want to hear, the other tells me the truth.
